BC Garn Soft Silk

BC Garn Soft Silk is a soft and rustic bourette silk yarn. It is especially suitable for tops, sweaters, shawls and kids knits. Silk is warm in winter and cool in summer.

Bourette silk contains a lot of sericin (silk glue), which gives the threads an antibacterial and skin-soothing effect. ( Source )

Nature is important to BC Garn. Soft Silk is dyed with AZO-free and Oeko-Tex certified dyes, which are environmentally friendly. Some skeins may have excess dye. You can rinse the yarn with cold water before use. Finish by adding a little vinegar to the rinse water. Always wash the ready-made sweater before the first use. If you encounter an unusual smell during the first wash, that is the smell of the silk glue, which is a natural part of silk. The smell will disappear after the first couple of washes.

Soft Silk is dyed and spun in a small spinning mill in India.
